If we are going to fight this we need voices. We need letters. We need people to show up for meetings.

Due to this ongoing issue, we always have costs to cover including everything from filing fees to FOIPOP fees to expert reports to our lawyer Paul Miller’s disbursements—we owe him so much for his time.

In Tantallon on June 1, approximately 1,000 people showed up to say no to an amendment in their area. They came with their questions, statements and their hearts. Same proponent, who wants to add an asphalt plant at the quarry they run out there. 1,000 people said no. It was the largest public turnout HRM has ever seen. We need to make a big impression here as well.
We need numbers in meetings, we need voices and we need valid and passionate questions, concerns and statements. We must assume this is coming quickly, so I implore each and every one of you to put your thoughts together now, write them down, share them with others to get more people up to speed and read everything you can on our posts to learn as much as you can about what we face. Watch our page for dates, other meetings and opportunities to help out.
Show everyone we do not want a quarry, asphalt plant or concrete plant in our community. We need signs posted, we need help getting the word around. If you do not have a sign yet, request one. We will get one to you. If you want to help out, email us, we will love you. If you have ideas and plans that will help our fight, contact us —we will adore you. Here’s our brochure, we have some printed already if you’d like some for an event:
